People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals (PETA) India recently honoured Bollywood Actress Shipla Shetty Kundra with a HERO TO ANIMALS Award.
According to the official Press Release dated 16th December 2017, Shilpa is beautiful inside and out and has a golden heart that beats for animals. It further goes on to praise her work and says, “We thank her for standing up for animals through her work and other actions.”
But is it really the case? Shilpa Shetty’s official YouTube Channel and Instagram Handle tells a different story.
In the video shared on her YouTube Channel on 21st Dec 2017 Shilpa can be seen cooking and teaching the recipe of Roasted Turkey for the Christmas Lunch. This video comes within a week’s time of her receiving the award from India chapter of PETA that advocates:
“Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.”

HYPOCRISY of PETA India and Shilpa Shetty
On one hand PETA claims to fight against the killing of Turkey Birds and on the other hand they honour celebrities who are teaching thousands and millions of people how to cook Roasted Turkey.
How many of you remember Shilpa Shetty campaigning for PETA’s Boycott the Circus Campaign?
For this campaign she got accolades and adulation from millions of animal lover from every corner of the world. Little did they knew that Shilpa Shetty would any day choose her taste buds over her love for animals.
And what is appalling is PETA has not yet condemned Shilpa for sharing the video on YouTube and Instagram.
It’s almost Christmas and tis’ the season to be jolly! Don’t miss out on the chance to put a smile on your family’s face as you surprise them with my special Roast Turkey. This larger than life meal will definitely leave you yearning for more! Go on, satisfy your taste-buds with my Christmas special and let me know how it goes. #SwasthRahoMastRaho #TastyThursday
Fans of Shilpa Shetty might come up with excuses like, eating turkey is a part of culture and food habit of the place where she shot the video at, i.e, London. But this logic doesn’t hold any water specially when the organisation she is associated has been campaigning against killing and eating turkey.

Do you think PETA India will take some action against Shilpa Shetty for going against the very ethics of PETA or Shilpa Shetty will enjoy the benefit of being a celebrity?
